What's Behind Our Mission

It is our mission to provide the best temporary nipple tattoos available. We are beyond committed (some say perfectionists) to providing the highest quality, the best consistency, and an overall exceptional experience for our beloved customers.

Tata Tattoos is more than just a temporary tattoo brand; it’s an offer to those reclaiming their confidence after the challenges of breast cancer. We’re committed to creating a temporary nipple tattoo experience that’s warm, empowering, and maybe (hopefully!) even a little fun.

When undergoing breast reconstruction or contemplating permanent areola tattoos, you may feel in limbo, incomplete or "in transition". Tata Tattoos was born to bridge that gap.

Our realistic nipple tattoos are designed to be comforting reminders of who you are: whole, beautiful, and bold. Whether you call them nipple tattoos, nipple tats, or Tata Tattoos, they symbolize courage and resilience.

Our (Freakish) Commitment to Quality

Product quality and shade consistency are the most important characteristics to our repeat customers. And we care – a lot – that we get it right each and every time.

Tata Tattoos is the only temporary nipple and areola tattoo company that invests in a “dedicated print run” in partnership with the manufacturer. Why does this matter? Printing consistent, high quality skin tones on temporary tattoo paper is extremely challenging due to a quirk of the printing process called color shift. When a manufacturer prints skin tone tattoos alongside other production orders, all the tattoos take on the dominant color in the overall print run. This typically leads to tattoos with either heavy pink or blue tones, little shade variance, and inconsistencies across print runs, resulting in an inferior temporary tattoo that doesn't reflect the product images customers intend to purchase.

It's extremely important to us that our little, nipple-shaped circles of love cater to women seeking both aesthetics and emotional healing during their recovery journeys. Our dedication to quality and consistency assures you get the same experience each and every time you wear your Tata Tattoos. We want them to serve as an everyday reminder of your strength and resilience, giving you something to smile about every time you catch a glimpse in the mirror.

Our expertly crafted tattoo artwork is covered under U.S. Copyright Reg. No. VA 2-347-432 by our founder, Mara DeFilippis.

Driven by Quality. Defined by Integrity.

In addition to post-mastectomy empowerment and superior quality, we hold ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to product safety, inclusivity, ethical sourcing, and sustainability. We want our customers to feel both confident in our products and morally aligned with the Tata Tattoos brand and mission.

  • Product safety is our utmost top priority. That's why Tata Tattoos are manufactured in the U.S. by a manufacturer that exceeds safety standards in the U.S., Canada & European Union for cosmetic and toy products.

  • Made for All Our Sisters. Our sisters are not one-size-fits-all, and neither are our tattoos. Inclusivity isn’t just a value; it’s truly at the heart of what we do. As such, we proudly offer seven high-quality, meticulously crafted shades, because every thriver deserves to feel represented and supported in their journey.

  • Ethical from the Inside Out. We partner only with manufacturers who meet rigorous social accountability standards, including SA8000:2008, one of the most respected social accountability standards worldwide. This includes strict protections against child labor, forced or compulsory labor, and discrimination. It also ensures safe and healthy working conditions, fair disciplinary practices, reasonable working hours, and the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. Workers are paid fairly, and management systems are in place to uphold these protections at every level.

  • Planet-Conscious. We’re deeply committed to minimizing our footprint. All Tata Tattoos packaging is either recyclable, compostable or reusable, and chosen with care for durability, function, and the least impact possible. We know there’s no such thing as “zero impact”, but we get as close as we can.

Restore Confidence with Tata Tattoos

About Temporary Nipple Tattoos

Nipple reconstruction and permanent areola/nipple tattoos are typically the final step in the breast reconstruction process following a mastectomy. They are the "final touch" in the reconstruction process and often provide a profound sense of relief to those women who've undergone a mastectomy, as if closing a tremendously tough chapter of their lives.

Areola tattoos and possible nipple reconstruction is completed once the expanders are replaced with permanent silicone or saline bags and have had adequate time to heal and "settle" into their permanent position. This is the time when the nipple tattoos can safely be used.

Prior to permanent nipple tattooing, it is common to hear women say they feel "incomplete", "in transition", or "bare". It is during this time that Tata Tattoos is here to help you feel more complete, help your breasts look more natural, and give you a sense of "normal".

Tata Tattoos can be used:

  • During the months of waiting for the breast bags to heal and settle
  • As a permanent solution for those who do not plan to undergo permanent nipple tattooing
  • As a solution for those who are not able to undergo permanent areola tattoos and/or nipple reconstruction due to complications
  • For those who are “just done” with any additional procedures
  • For those who would like a different looking areola and/or nipple for various other reasons
